In Adıyaman, allegations that Kahta Mayor Mehmet Can Hallaç has been directing municipal tenders to his relatives and acquaintances are on the agenda. According to a report by Deniz Ayhan from Sözcü, the awarding of multi-million lira tenders to the brother and uncle of the Mayor's official driver has caused a major stir in the city. It was particularly noted that the post-earthquake debris removal tender was also awarded to relatives.

HALF OF THE TENDERS TO ACQUAINTANCES

According to the 2024 activity report, 10 out of 19 tenders organized by the Kahta Municipality went to Mayor Hallaç's third-degree relatives. Some of these tenders were awarded to Mazhar Aruk, the brother of official driver Mehmet Fattah Aruk, and his uncle, Şeyho Parlak. While Mazhar Aruk received tenders for grave covers and construction rebar totaling 8 million 916 thousand TL, a company belonging to the relatives of Şeyho Parlak won a 16 million TL construction tender.

NO INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

The people of Adıyaman have described the situation as "nepotism," stating that these tenders are not realistic and that there are not that many roads in the city. Despite these allegations frequently appearing in the local press, no investigation has been launched yet.

DETAILS OF THE TENDERS

Among the tenders awarded by the Kahta Municipality to Şeyho Parlak is a 9 million 930 thousand TL contract for the collection of 60 thousand tons of debris and various maintenance works. Additionally, another tender worth 3 million 430 thousand TL covers the rental of various construction machinery. A third tender is valued at 14 million 820 thousand TL and also involves the rental of construction machinery.
