Tensions rise at the IMM Assembly: Nuri Aslan challenges MHP's Ayhan over 'arrest' insinuation!

During the July meeting of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Assembly, MHP Group Deputy Chairman Orkun Ayhan targeted the IMM administration with criticisms. Ayhan stated, "This is not your private property; it must be governed by laws. If you exhibit a management style contrary to the rules, there will be legal consequences."

In response to these remarks, IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan replied, "Are you going to have me arrested? I have no fear. I am committed to the Republic and I will perform my duties in accordance with the law," expressing his frustration at being constantly lectured on how to manage the assembly.

The debate caused a brief period of tension in the assembly hall. Other group deputy chairmen called for the session to continue in an orderly manner. Following the debate, the session continued under the chairmanship of Deputy Mayor Aslan.
