Thanks from Karamollaoğlu to Özgür Özel
Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu thanked the CHP for its support after his party lost the "20-member" criterion required to maintain a parliamentary group following the death of Kocaeli MP Hasan Bitmez.
In his post, Karamollaoğlu stated, "I would like to thank CHP Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel, the CHP administration, and their staff for showing great magnanimity in ensuring the continuation of our parliamentary group."
The number of seats held by the Saadet Party had fallen to 19 following the death of Kocaeli MP Hasan Bitmez, causing the party to lose the criterion for maintaining a group in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
With Kütahya MP Ali Fazıl Kasap resigning from the CHP and joining the Saadet Party, the number of MPs for the Saadet Party reached 20, the number required to form a group.
