The 'Foundation Archive' dispute between CHP's Yavuzyılmaz and the DMM grows: 'Actually, I am the one refuting you'
Allegations regarding the status of the General Directorate of Foundations Archive have sparked a dispute between the ministry and CHP's Deniz Yavuzyılmaz. While the ministry denies the claims, Yavuzyılmaz has issued harsh criticism.
The Center for Combating Disinformation, affiliated with the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, has responded to claims circulating on social media that "the General Directorate of Foundations Archive has been left abandoned."
The Center stated that these claims do not reflect the truth and are intended to mislead the public.
The statement noted that the archive has been protected by fire safety and climate control systems since 2006 and has been moved to the Ankara Regional Directorate of Foundations. Furthermore, it was shared that 51 archive personnel continue their duties and that the current building will be used by the Yunus Emre Institute.
CHP Zonguldak Deputy Deniz Yavuzyılmaz reacted to this statement via social media. Yavuzyılmaz claimed that the archive was transferred to the Yunus Emre Foundation and that 51 personnel were removed from their posts.
Yavuzyılmaz criticized the ministry, stating, "The archive was left to the mercy of the notorious Yunus Emre Foundation and was practically abandoned. You are lying."
Yavuzyılmaz also recalled that the Yunus Emre Foundation had been associated with "fake invoice corruption" in the past and pointed out that no official response had been given to this claim. Yavuzyılmaz refuted the ministry's statements, noting that the new address for the personnel is Milli Müdafaa Street in Kızılay.
Deniz Yavuzyılmaz: “ACTUALLY, YOU ARE THE ONES LYING”
In a post on his social media account, CHP Zonguldak Deputy Deniz Yavuzyılmaz reacted by saying, “The archive was left to the mercy of the notorious Yunus Emre Foundation and was practically abandoned. You are lying.”
Yavuzyılmaz announced that 51 archive personnel had been removed from their posts and that their new address was No: 20, Milli Müdafaa Street in Kızılay. He presented this situation as a direct refutation of the statement made by the Center for Combating Disinformation.
Furthermore, reminding that the Yunus Emre Foundation had been associated with "fake invoice corruption" in the past, Yavuzyılmaz pointed out that no official response had been given to this claim.
Yavuzyılmaz's post is as follows:
“I am the one refuting the Ministry of Culture and Tourism!
I had stated that the archive was under threat because the building in Ulus, Ankara, which houses the world's largest foundation archive, was allocated to the notorious Yunus Emre Foundation.
Because the Ministry had removed the 51 archive personnel, who both protect and conduct research on the foundation archive containing unique thousand-year-old documents, from the building, removed them from their posts, and sent them to another address.
The archive was left to the mercy of the notorious Yunus Emre Foundation, effectively left abandoned.
Today, in a statement, the Ministry said;
They are calling the removal of 51 archive personnel from their posts a 'lie'.
In that case, I have some bad news and some good news for Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy!
The bad news
You are lying.
Because these 51 archive personnel are not at the Foundations Archive Building in Ulus, Ankara. In other words, they have been removed from their posts.
The good news
For your sake, I have found the new addresses of these 51 archive personnel and where they are located.
They are at the address: Milli Müdafaa Street, No: 20, Namık Kemal Neighborhood, Kızılay.
So, it turns out that you are the ones actually lying.
The archive is left without an owner!
Another noteworthy issue is
that although I stated that the Yunus Emre Foundation, where the Board of Trustees is chaired by Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy,
is associated with a fake invoice corruption scandal, you did not object to this part at all, not even with a lie. If you have the courage, issue a refutation regarding this part as well!
