A news report published based on statements attributed to former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu became a hot topic in a short time. The content, which appeared on TGRT Haber and Türkiye newspaper, both close to the AKP, was later removed from publication.

ALLEGED STATEMENTS BECAME A HOT TOPIC

In the report featured on TGRT Haber and Türkiye newspaper, both part of the İhlas Media Group, it was claimed that Kılıçdaroğlu made assessments regarding the "absolute nullity" lawsuit against the CHP.

The report alleged that he criticized the current CHP administration's stance on irregularities in municipalities and expressed his belief that an injustice had occurred at the 38th Ordinary Congress of the CHP.

Furthermore, it was claimed that the words attributed to Kılıçdaroğlu included the following: "If I were to say 'close this matter,' would you go and align yourselves behind Özgür Özel? It is natural for everyone to seek their legal rights. At the same time, I have no doubt that there was an injustice at the congress."

The content in question was shared by many media outlets and social media accounts close to the AKP after it was published on TGRT Haber. However, after a while, it was removed from the websites of both TGRT Haber and Türkiye newspaper.

CLEAR DENIAL FROM THE LAWYER

Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer, Celal Çelik, denied the allegations in a statement he made on the social media platform X. In his statement, Çelik included the following remarks:

"Our Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has not given an interview in any way, nor has he made such a statement! For the information of the public."

STATEMENT FROM THE AUTHOR OF THE REPORT

Following the denial, TGRT Ankara News Coordinator Ahmet Sözcan, whose byline was on the report, also made a statement regarding the matter. Stating that the report was not a direct statement, Sözcan used the following expressions:

"While I was explaining it on air, I presented it as 'assessments made with his close circle,' meaning as inside information, but there was a misunderstanding when it was quickly put on the lower third (KJ). It was quoted that way afterward. It is not a direct statement, but inside information."
