The London house controversy continues: Turgut Altınok responds to Mansur Yavaş's 'swap' offer

AKP's Ankara candidate Turgut Altınok, who has been in the spotlight over his assets, responded to the swap offer made by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş. Altınok stated, "Let's give the fields inherited from my mother and father, and we still couldn't buy his house. Let's give all of these for the house Yavaş bought in London, if he is willing to swap, of course. There is no moral dimension left to this matter."

The London house controversy continues: Turgut Altınok responds to Mansur Yavaş's 'swap' offer

As the local elections approach, the controversy over the assets of mayoral candidates continues.

Mansur Yavaş's disclosure of his assets was followed by Ekrem İmamoğlu, Turgut Altınok, and Murat Kurum declaring their own assets.

Turgut Altınok, who has been in the spotlight over his assets, targeted Mansur Yavaş by bringing up his daughter's house in London.

YAVAŞ'S SWAP OFFER TO ALTINOK

Yavaş, in turn, made a swap offer to Altınok, stating: "My opponent says, 'Mansur Yavaş has a house in London, the money from that house would pay for all my assets,' regarding a house my daughter will pay for in installments with a mortgage over exactly 32 years. Let's swap. Let's swap with one-tenth of it, let's swap with one percent of it."

ALTINOK'S RESPONSE TO YAVAŞ'S OFFER

Responding to questions from members of the press, Turgut Altınok answered the question: "You said, 'Mansur Yavaş's house in London is more valuable than my assets.' How will you respond to Yavaş's swap offer?"

Altınok said the following:

"One is property inherited from mother and father, acquired before becoming mayor. The other is property acquired after becoming mayor. There is also the house he lives in. It is not ethical, however. Immoral, shameless slanders and lies have brought the matter to this point. Let him also explain with what money he bought the house he currently lives in for 25 million after becoming mayor. Let's give the fields inherited from my mother and father, and we still couldn't buy his house. Let's give all of these for the house Yavaş bought in London, if he is willing to swap, of course. There is no moral dimension left to this matter. Lies, mud-slinging, and slanders are being thrown around."
