The name AKP will field against Mansur Yavaş in Ankara has been revealed! Claim that 'former minister has been persuaded'
A surprise name has been put forward for the AKP's Ankara candidate in the March 31, 2024 local elections.
Turkey has entered the local election atmosphere. While the CHP has nominated Ekrem İmamoğlu in Istanbul and Mansur Yavaş in Ankara, candidates have not yet been finalized on the AKP front.
Regarding the matter, journalist Kenan Taş has put forward a surprise name for the AKP's Ankara candidate.
In a post on his X account, Taş wrote that it is being discussed that former Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk has been persuaded to run as a candidate from Ankara.
Kenan Taş's post is as follows;
"It is being discussed that former Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk has been persuaded for the AK Party in Ankara..."

Former Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk resigned from his post on August 6, 2021.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that candidates for the local elections would be announced by the end of December and said, 'We will continue with names who take on the burden, not those who are a burden.' Both the Istanbul and Ankara candidates are expected to be announced within a week.
