Threat against Özgür Özel from former mufti! Sharp reaction from CHP

Former Çatalca Mufti Ahmet Mehmetalioğlu, who previously drew backlash for his post regarding the death of famous artist Volkan Konak, in which he wrote "He died on stage," has now targeted CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

Mehmetalioğlu threatened Özel on social media with the following words: "Hey Özgür Özel. It is easy to talk from behind a shield of protection. Without your army of bodyguards (though they are useless anyway, you still get slapped), come on over, I am in Fatih. Let's see how you tear my mouth. You are incapable of even tearing a receipt in a pharmacy. Cardboard chairman. You haven't been slapped yet. I will be the one to slap you, just wait."

'AN INVESTIGATION MUST BE LAUNCHED IMMEDIATELY'

CHP Adana Deputy Burhanettin Bulut reacted to Mehmetalioğlu, who threatened Özel.

Bulut used the following expressions on his social media platform X account:

"The words coming out of the mouth of someone who served in the Diyanet are not just a disgrace, but also a hate crime. This individual, who can barely burn as much as his own size, cannot represent humanity, let alone religion! We know very well where he finds this audacity. This aggressive language is the product of a management approach that turns public officials into government trolls, as well as a product of hatred and polarization. The rule of law must do its duty, and an investigation must be launched immediately."
