TKH reacts to the 'opening' process: If the US is involved, there is no peace; if the AKP is in power, there is no democracy!

The Communist Movement of Turkey (TKH), in a statement issued following the dissolution decision announced by the terrorist organization PKK, emphasized that we must rid ourselves of the US, religious sects, and bosses to achieve peace. 

The statement, which noted that the 'symbolic laying down of arms' has turned into a major perception operation, used the following expressions: "The goals and intentions behind the process, which is being carried out by being constructed step by step and announced in pieces, are being overlooked. The fact that the process, which is being conducted through perception politics aimed at the public, is not being presented in all its dimensions and with clarity by political actors, especially the government, raises certain questions." 

Emphasizing that one must fight against the Greater Middle East Project (BOP) for peace and brotherhood, the statement called on laborers, progressives, and patriots to join the struggle. 

The statement from the TKH is as follows: 

"It is claimed that the new process, which began with Devlet Bahçeli's words, 'Lay down your arms, let Öcalan speak in Parliament,' has moved to a new phase with a ceremony symbolizing the laying down of arms following the dissolution decision announced by the PKK. The 'symbolic laying down of arms' has been turned into a major propaganda and perception management tool by the AKP-MHP government and the press that represents it.  

The goals and intentions behind the process, which is being carried out by being constructed step by step and announced in pieces, are being overlooked. The fact that the process, which is being conducted through perception politics aimed at the public, is not being presented in all its dimensions and with clarity by political actors, especially the government, raises certain questions. 

The ongoing process consists merely of the step-by-step conversion of secret agreements made behind closed doors into a political foundation. The artificiality of ceremonies such as 'burning weapons' points to a situation where the reality is masked by perceptions. 

When we remove all kinds of ceremonies, perceptions, and covers, it will be seen that the steps taken are developing along the axis of the new policy that imperialism is pursuing in the Middle East. The genocide Israel is carrying out in Gaza, the bringing of bloodthirsty jihadists to power in Syria, and the US-Israel attacks against Iran are not separate from today's developments. As imperialism takes the initiative in the Middle East and changes the borders of the region, it is also putting new war policies into effect. While the AKP-MHP coalition, which is a collaborator of pro-American politics, eagerly accepts the role and function assigned to Turkey in this war, Kurdish politics has also accepted this role assigned to it by imperialism. When the new phase of imperialism's Greater Middle East Project is considered, the fact that the support that will provide a lifeline to the AKP-MHP government is being harvested from Kurdish politics shows that this process does not coincide with the interests of our country and the working people.

AKP leader Erdoğan, who preferred to stay in the background alongside the role played by MHP leader Bahçeli, showed as of yesterday that he is the very subject of this process, declaring that a new alliance has been established between the AKP, MHP, and the DEM Party. The speech made by Erdoğan at the AKP meeting following the symbolic ceremony of laying down arms created a new picture where political Islamism, the fascist movement, and the Kurdish political movement have come side by side. The axis of this alliance, however, has been drawn by imperialism.  

If a culprit is to be sought in the Kurdish issue, which has been one of the country's significant problems for nearly 50 years, one must look first and foremost at the MHP and the AKP, which has been in power for nearly half of those 50 years. The attempt by those responsible for the painful and bloody events experienced in the context of the Kurdish issue to clear their names today is 'admirable'!

The Turkish-Kurdish-Arab alliance insistently emphasized by Erdoğan is nothing more than a direct reflection of the statement made by the imperialist US ambassador to the Anadolu Agency. Plans have been made, roles have been distributed, and today the play is being staged. The connections between the 'Neo-Ottomanism' orientation, which is also openly voiced by many elements, and certain calculations and goals are being insistently hidden. 

The discourse that 'we fought together in the Battle of Gallipoli' is full of historical inaccuracies, and it is pure jingoism because it does not touch upon the reality that the war was fought against imperialism and the policy of partitioning Anatolian lands by imperialism itself. It is no coincidence that Erdoğan emphasizes a Turkish-Kurdish-Arab 'togetherness' today while a new Middle East project is being implemented for the security of imperialism, led by the US, and Zionist Israel. For this very reason, it is impossible to see this process, which contains the codes of a despotic regime, as a 'national process'. 

Just as the expectation of peace in the Middle East from imperialist the US is ahistorical and unpolitical, the expectation of democracy from the reactionary AKP and the fascist MHP is similarly contrary to Turkey's political reality and political theory. The coming together of the AKP, MHP, and DEM Party in a joint alliance will not bring democratization or peace; it will mean nothing other than the attachment of Kurdish politics to the reactionary-fascist rule of the AKP-MHP bloc. The continuation of Erdoğan's one-man rule and the search for a majority in Parliament for the new constitution of the despotic regime is what we face today as the AKP-MHP-DEM alliance. The preference of Kurdish politics for a 'boycott instead of no' during the 2010 referendum process has turned into direct open support today. 

We will see in the coming period what bargains were made in this process, which was initiated for the purpose of establishing the new reactionary regime whose rules were set by US imperialism and which was established in Turkey by the hands of the AKP-MHP, and for Erdoğan to remain in the presidential seat. It will also emerge what promises were made to US imperialism and why the Erdoğan government is being supported in return for these promises. 

From a project where the mafia is legitimized, clans have a say, religious sects are attempted to be placed under constitutional protection, and the progressive accumulation of the region and the country is liquidated, neither peace, nor brotherhood, nor independence can emerge. As long as every kind of oppressive policy carried out by the despotic regime that holds Turkey captive against the working people turns Turkey into an open-air prison, expecting democracy and freedom from those who carry out this policy is an insult to history, and to the mind and conscience of the working people. As long as the enthusiastic representatives of imperialism's regional policy remain in power, and as long as Turkey remains a 'military base' for NATO, a 'fully independent and sovereign Turkey' is nothing but a dream. One cannot be on the same side as those who sell this dream!

The distance between us and those who do not distance themselves from imperialism, reactionism, fascism, and capital is clear. It is clear to everyone that the distance between the Turkish left and Kurdish politics, which does not distance itself from the AKP and MHP today, has widened even further.

Our party declares that the brotherhood of peoples in the Middle East passes through a common struggle against imperialism. Brotherhood and unity are not possible without waging an anti-imperialist struggle against the BOP, which is the policy of imperialism, led by the US, to partition the Middle East, and against the Zionist Israeli administration that causes the genocide of the Palestinian people. 

The salvation of our country and the working people will be achieved through a common struggle against imperialism, capital, reactionism, and fascism.  

The path to peace and brotherhood passes through a 'Turkey without the US, without bosses, without sects, and without the mafia'!

The Communist Movement of Turkey calls on all working people to escalate the common struggle for the socialist republic, which is the only realistic option against imperialism, reactionism, the dictatorship of capital, and the despotic regime."
