TKP central committees meet: The need for a strong communist party is growing
The Communist Party of Turkey announced that its central committees have concluded their consecutive monthly meetings.
The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has concluded its central committee meetings, where current developments in national politics were evaluated.
The meetings addressed the current needs of working-class politics and the TKP's political roadmap for the coming period.
"TKP'S PREPARATIONS FOR LOCAL ELECTIONS REVIEWED AT VARIOUS LEVELS"
The full statement regarding the meetings is as follows:
“Discussions were held on the current dimensions of the tension within the ruling bloc, which manifests itself from time to time as a conflict between nativism-nationalism and Westernism, and at other times between Turkism and Islamism. It was assessed that these intra-systemic cracks, which have become difficult for the AKP government to manage, have led a large segment of society to focus on intra-systemic balances.
It was determined that a period has begun in which communists must speak more sharply in the face of these developments, which cause society to remain inactive by creating expectations regarding the consequences of these intra-systemic cracks, and which divide and antagonize working people by making them part of a very misguided polarization.

"LOCAL ELECTION" CLAIM
Throughout the meetings, the TKP's preparations for the local elections were reviewed at various levels. It was discussed that the TKP's local election campaign would not be limited to the propaganda of communist municipalism, but would also encompass its general outreach and intervention in line with the TKP's political claims.
As the process of determining the localities and candidates with which the TKP will enter the elections ambitiously nears its conclusion, work continues to determine the political emphases and election slogan that the election campaign will include.
Drawing attention to the possibility that the misguided political polarization taking shape through Turkism and Islamism could tear Turkey apart for some time, the Communist Party of Turkey sees that the need for a strong communist party will increase in the coming days when the consequences of the economic crisis, which is expected to deepen after the elections, are added to the picture. In this context, organizational steps to strengthen TKP organizations were also among the agendas of the meetings.”
