TKP releases 'Crimes Committed Against Secularism' dossier
As part of its 'We Are on the Heels of Sects' initiative, the TKP has published the third installment of its 'Crimes Committed Against Secularism' dossier.
The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has published the third installment of its 'Crimes Committed Against Secularism' study, a project in which it has long been documenting the government's collaborations with religious sects and communities as part of its 'We Are on the Heels of Sects' initiative.
CRIMES RANGING FROM MUNICIPALITIES TO RELIGIOUS COMMUNITIES LISTED
The published text includes a dossier on agreements made by AKP-run municipalities with religious sects, collaborations maintained with reactionary foundations in schools, and sexual abuse cases occurring within religious communities.
The 'Crimes Committed Against Secularism' are as follows:
- The AKP-run Üsküdar Municipality brought religious sects together for Gaza. The components of the bazaar organized by the municipality included associations and foundations linked to sects such as the Erenköy, Menzil, and Nur communities.
- During a march held in December under the pretext of supporting Palestine, an organization called Hizb-ut Tahrir called for a caliphate and Sharia law. The organization's publication, Köklü Değişim, continues to call for a caliphate by sharing footage of the rally on social media.
- Footage has emerged of an instructor physically abusing young children at a dormitory belonging to the Süleymancı sect in Alanya. It is alleged that the instructor told the children sexually explicit content during lessons and addressed them by saying "my wife."
- Last month, the Ataşehir District Directorate of National Education issued a written instruction to schools requesting that class hours be arranged according to Friday prayers and that suitable conditions be created for Friday prayers to be performed in schools. This time, the directorate imposed a theater play containing jihadist propaganda.
- At the Naldöken Muharrem Candaş Secondary School in the Bornova district of İzmir, brochures were distributed by the reactionary foundation TÜGVA without the knowledge of teachers or parents.
- At the Bursa Atatürk Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, the school principal recently led congregational prayers inside the school. This time, a message sent by the assistant principal to a teacher group against those who defend secularism has emerged: "Shoulder to shoulder against the 'known mentality.' We are protecting our religion, our faith, and our community. Forever."
- We know the Hiranur Foundation, one of the foundations affiliated with the İsmailağa Community, from the case of sexual abuse of a child. This time, the İsmailağa Community has established the Halidiye Foundation with the goal of "raising conscious generations by protecting national and spiritual values!"
