According to a report by the British news agency Reuters, US President Donald Trump and the leader of Syria's interim government, Ahmed Tomeh, held a critical meeting in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The meeting took place during the Middle East leg of Trump's first foreign tour.

ERDOĞAN PARTICIPATED VIA ONLINE CONNECTION

According to the Anadolu Agency, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan participated in the meeting via an online connection.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was physically present at the meeting. Erdoğan joined the discussion via video conference to exchange views.

SANCTIONS ARE BEING LIFTED

In his speech at the Saudi-US Joint Investment Forum held in Riyadh, Donald Trump announced that the US has decided to lift all sanctions imposed on Syria.

Trump stated that his discussions with President Erdoğan and Crown Prince Salman were influential in this decision.
