Tunç Soyer reacts to UKOME decision:

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer issued a written statement following the rejection of the proposal regarding the "120-Minute Free Transfer Application in Public Transportation" by the votes of institutions and organizations representing the central administration at an extraordinary meeting of the UKOME General Assembly.

"Before the upcoming local elections, the AKP Metropolitan Mayoral Candidate had also promised to bring back the 90-minute system, and even said, 'one of our promises has been fulfilled'," Soyer said. "On one hand, they say what the citizens want to hear to look pleasant on the street. On the other hand, they use representatives of institutions affiliated with the central administration to prevent us from implementing a practice that is for the benefit of the people of İzmir," he stated.

"WE WILL BRING THAT PROPOSAL BACK TO UKOME"

Soyer concluded his statement with the words, "They have always been like this. But we have not given up, and we will not... We will bring that proposal back to UKOME. Let our people follow this. Let them see who is sincere and who is not; let them make their decision."
