TÜSİAR poll: AKP in first place with 32.73 percent, CHP drops to 29.10 percent

The June 2026 Turkey Agenda Research conducted by TÜSİAR Research and Consultancy has revealed striking results regarding the impact of the management change in the CHP following the "absolute nullity" (mutlak butlan) ruling on voter trends.

According to the research, after distributing undecided voters, the AKP ranked first with 32.73 percent of the vote. While the CHP's vote share was measured at 29.10 percent, the gap between the two parties was calculated at 3.63 points.

In the study, which was conducted online between June 22-28, 2026, with 5,792 people in 26 provinces, the DEM Party appeared at 9.04 percent, the MHP at 8.24 percent, and the İYİ Party at 6.41 percent. The rate of undecided voters in the research was recorded at 13.5 percent.

SUPPORT FOR ÖZEL STANDS OUT AMONG CHP VOTERS

In the section of the poll targeting CHP voters, it was observed that a significant portion of the party base views Özgür Özel's management of the process positively. 68.1 percent of participants stated that they support the line followed by Özel.

Conversely, the rate of those who find Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's management of the process negative reached 69.1 percent. In a possible race for the party chairmanship, 46.8 percent of CHP voters expressed that they would cast their preference for Özgür Özel.

The research also showed that the expectation for an end to the intra-party crisis within the CHP base is strong. 38.7 percent of participants said they want a consensus to be reached within the party. In a possible scenario of separation, 32.8 percent of the segment stated that they could support a new political formation that might be established under the leadership of Özgür Özel.

The poll also measured public opinion on the "absolute nullity" ruling. While 48.9 percent of participants stated that they learned about this concept through the process that occurred after the CHP congress, the rate of those who find the Ankara Regional Court of Justice's decision wrong was 46 percent. The rate of those who find the decision correct remained at 32.4 percent.

The possibility of an early election also stood out in expectations regarding the election calendar. 60.5 percent of those who participated in the research said they think elections could be held before the normal calendar. 37.5 percent of this group expressed the view that an early election could take place in 2027, while 23 percent said it could happen within this year.

TÜSİAR reported that the research was conducted with a 95 percent confidence interval and a 2.3 percent margin of error.
