Ümit Dikbayır explains what he will do if expelled! Will he join the AKP?

Waters are not calming down in the İYİ Party, where news of resignations has been arriving one after another.

İYİ Party Sakarya MP Ümit Dikbayır, who leveled corruption allegations against Chairwoman Meral Akşener and the party administration, has been referred to the disciplinary board with a request for his permanent expulsion. Despite the referral decision, Dikbayır had announced that he would not resign and would continue his struggle.

NEW ALLEGATIONS FROM DİKBAYIR

Dikbayır, who faces expulsion, spoke about the accusations he directed at Chief of Staff Esma Bekar and also made allegations regarding Akşener's son. Dikbayır also responded to claims that he would join the AKP if he were expelled.

Dikbayır had alleged that Deputy Chairman Sedat Aksakallı collected off-the-books money from business people and gave it to Akşener's chief of staff and her husband. Akşener's chief of staff, Esma Bekar, announced that she would initiate legal proceedings; the İYİ Party leader also lashed out, saying, "A sense of decency, morality, and shame is very important in politics."

RESPONSE TO AKŞENER'S REACTION: I WOULD SIGN MY NAME UNDER THAT

Speaking to İpek Özbey from Sözcü, Dikbayır said, "I would sign my name under those words," and continued as follows:

“She is right; I think politics should be conducted exactly like that, not with lies, slander, and conspiracies. She spoke very correctly; I wish they could implement it rather than just say it…”

Stating that he had complained to Akşener about Esma Bekar twice before, Dikbayır said, “Ms. Esma would dig the grave of anyone who complained about her… And not many people dared to. This type of incident happened many times. But the Chairwoman does not let anyone touch Ms. Esma,” he said.

"IF I AM EXPELLED, I WILL REMAIN INDEPENDENT, I WILL NOT GO TO THE AKP"

When asked what he would do if he were expelled, Dikbayır replied, "I will remain independent, I will not go to the AKP; all the allegations are lies."

"AKŞENER'S SON HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN THE PARTY'S INTERNAL AFFAIRS FOR FOUR YEARS"

Claiming that Akşener's son, Fatih Akşener, has been involved in the party's internal affairs for at least four years, Dikbayır alleged, “It was temporary, but his influence increased over time. He has a work office in both the main building and the annex… He also has a secretary…”

HARASSMENT ACCUSATION

Stating that he was devastated on the day he was accused of harassment, Dikbayır said the following:

“I couldn't sleep until morning for days. How could the Chairwoman do this to me? My family is sure of me; there are still messages I haven't been able to return; people believe me. Everyone is aware of this, but how could the Chairwoman do this to me, how could she do this to my family? She knows my children, my wife… My wife cannot even go to the market across the street. They have believed in me from the very first moment, but this is a psychological thing. They feel like everyone is looking at them if they go anywhere. I hear this from our party members: If this can be done to Ümit Dikbayır in this party, it can be done to anyone…”
