Ümit Özdağ calls on CHP to unite
Victory Party (Zafer Partisi) Chairman Ümit Özdağ has addressed CHP leader Özgür Özel, calling on all pro-Atatürk parties to "unite." Özdağ also reacted to the operations targeting municipalities.
Victory Party leader Ümit Özdağ held a press conference at his party's headquarters.
Addressing CHP leader Özgür Özel, Özdağ issued a call for unity. "We are calling on CHP leader Özgür Özel and all pro-Atatürk leaders to unite under Atatürk," Özdağ said.
REACTION TO OPERATIONS
The highlights from Özdağ's statements are as follows:
"We condemn the operations carried out against municipalities. One day, democracy will be needed by everyone.
We are not against the investigation of corruption allegations. This is a requirement of the justice mechanism. However, taking mayors into custody with dawn raids is an application of enemy criminal law.
Appointing trustees is another attempt to exert pressure. Özgür Özel is talking about early elections. But that also depends on the government's will."
CALL TO ÖZGÜR ÖZEL
"We want to make a call to the CHP. We believe that it is very valuable for all pro-Atatürk opposition parties to come together. We are calling on Özgür Özel and all pro-Atatürk leaders to unite under Atatürk.
The Turkish people continue to become impoverished by paying high interest to interest lobbies. We see that the gap has widened significantly due to the AKP's policies that impoverish the public. The middle class is disappearing.
Lower the VAT on fuel, update the minimum wage every 3 months. Provide interest-free loans and fertilizer support to farmers, and stop the foreclosures."
