Ümit Özdağ criticizes Turkey's pension system:

The pension system in Turkey has continued to produce serious inequalities for many years that are not in line with the principles of social justice and the rule of law. Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ voiced his criticisms on this issue, stating that a difference of only one day in insurance registration between citizens insured in the same year or month leads to a retirement gap of up to 17-20 years. He emphasized that this situation causes workers to be unable to receive a fair return for the premiums they have paid and the labor they have provided.

Özdağ expressed that citizens who have worked and paid premiums for years are faced with a life where they become poorer as they age and live in fear of passing away before they can retire, rather than having the right to a retirement where they can live humanely.

Stating that retirement is not a favor but a return for one's sweat and paid premiums, Özdağ said that this right must be provided with a salary worthy of human dignity and an income level that can meet basic needs.

Stating that as the Zafer Party, they will continue to stand by the side of justice in retirement and the right to a humane life, Özdağ emphasized that the demand for gradual retirement is a requirement of the social conscience and the social state governed by the rule of law. He expressed that this demand should no longer be ignored and should be taken into consideration without delay.

Özdağ's statements have caused the injustices in Turkey's pension system to come to the agenda once again. The Zafer Party stated that it will continue its efforts to raise awareness on this issue and voice its proposed solutions.
