Ümit Özdağ's harsh criticism of PKK's 'disarmament' footage: A barbecue party

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ visited villages in İzmir affected by recent forest fires. Meeting with citizens in Orhanlı Village in the Seferihisar district, Özdağ listened to the problems of the fire victims and stated that the state must act more quickly in disaster management.

Meeting with villagers who are going through difficult times due to agricultural lands and homes damaged by the fire in Orhanlı Village, Özdağ drew attention to the dedication shown by the village youth in fighting the fire.

Addressing the İzmir Governorship, Özdağ requested that the equipment demands of the Orhanlı Survival and Protection Association, formed by the village's volunteer youth, be met. Speaking on behalf of the association, Aziz Çevre said, "Our volunteer youth rush to every fire, but we have a major lack of equipment. We expect support from our Governor." Emphasizing the importance of this request, Özdağ stated, "There is manpower and volunteerism here; all that remains is the necessary equipment."

CRITICISM OF PKK'S DISARMAMENT FOOTAGE

During his visit to Orhanlı, Ümit Özdağ made statements regarding the PKK's disarmament footage, describing the ceremony as a "barbecue party." Özdağ said, "The PKK burning 30 Kalashnikovs will not end terrorism. The PKK is transferring its weapons to its side branches. Weapons and militants are being transferred to organizations like the PYD and PJAK." Claiming that the government is in a process of negotiation with terrorism, Özdağ argued that the commission to be established in Parliament is creating the groundwork for constitutional amendment preparations.

Özdağ also drew attention to the PKK's threats that it would return to terrorism if the constitution is not amended. "These kinds of negotiations are being conducted openly," said Özdağ, criticizing the government's stance in this process.
