Ümit Özdağ responds to Murat Kurum's security promise to women with 'soup' remark

As local elections approach, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidates have been announced by almost every party. While numerous candidates are trying to make their mark, People's Alliance candidate Murat Kurum also made new promises at an event he attended.

Kurum's promise that, if elected, IETT bus drivers would drop women off right at their doorsteps was criticized by Victory Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ.

Stating that the current situation is a security issue and that the primary cause is the AKP's turning a blind eye to illegal migration from abroad, Özdağ said that if their own candidates are elected, they will send back the 4 million refugees in Istanbul, thereby creating a more livable and secure city.

Özdağ made the following post:

"Mr. Murat, do not worry; once the Victory Party sends the 4 million refugees and illegal migrants in Istanbul back to their homelands, Istanbul will be safer.

It is enough for you to distribute soup at the border for those you will be sending from Istanbul.

After March 31, our Aksaray-Africa, Fatih-Esenyurt-Esenler-Damascus, and Zeytinburnu-Kabul services will begin. Zafer Tourism wishes you good days and a safe journey."
