Ümit Özdağ responds to the question, 'What did Sinan Oğan receive in exchange for supporting Erdoğan?'
ATA Alliance presidential candidate Sinan Oğan had announced that he would support Erdoğan in the second round of the elections. Ümit Özdağ, Chairman of the Victory Party (Zafer Partisi), one of the alliance members, spoke for the first time regarding their candidate's decision at that time.
In the May 14 elections, the ATA Alliance, formed by the Victory Party, the Justice Party, the Homeland Party, and the Turkey Alliance Party, had decided to nominate Sinan Oğan as its presidential candidate.
Following the May 14 elections, the ATA Alliance dissolved, and Sinan Oğan, who had been nominated as the presidential candidate, decided to support President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the second round of the elections held on May 28.
Victory Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ responded for the first time to the question, 'What did Sinan Oğan receive in exchange for supporting Erdoğan?' after the elections.
Speaking on a YouTube program he attended, Özdağ said regarding Oğan's decision in the second round, 'Sinan Oğan's decision binds only himself; it is a decision we do not approve of. We have clearly stated our policies regarding this.'
'HE MUST HAVE RECEIVED SOMETHING'
When asked, 'Many people have said this. What did Sinan Oğan receive to support him? Did he receive anything, material or moral? Do you have any comment on this?', Özdağ replied, 'He must have received something... He must have received something.'
