‘Undecided voters’ leave their mark on the İzmir poll! What is the gap between Cemil Tugay and Hamza Dağ?

Turkey has entered the local election atmosphere. With less than 2 months remaining until the elections on March 31, 2024, public opinion research companies continue their polling efforts.

Most recently, ALF Research Company shared the results of the poll it conducted in İzmir, known as a stronghold of the CHP.

In the poll conducted between February 11-14 with 2,200 participants, citizens were asked the question, “Which candidate will you vote for in the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality mayoral election to be held on March 31, 2024?”

UNDECIDED VOTERS COULD DETERMINE THE ELECTION

In the poll where ‘undecided voters’ accounted for 10.6 percent, the vote gap between CHP candidate Cemil Tugay and AKP candidate Hamza Dağ was 8.3 percent.

According to the poll, CHP's İzmir Metropolitan candidate Cemil Tugay received 40.7 percent of the votes, while AKP's Metropolitan candidate Hamza Dağ received 32.3 percent.

In the poll, the CHP and AKP were followed by the İYİ Party, DEM, and the Victory Party (Zafer Partisi). 

Here are the results of the İzmir poll: 

İYİ Party İzmir Metropolitan candidate Ümit Özlale: 7.1 percent

DEM Party İzmir Metropolitan candidate: 4.6 percent

Victory Party (Zafer Partisi) İzmir Metropolitan candidate Naşit Birgüvi: 2.2 percent

Other: 2.5 percent

Undecided: 10.6 percent
