Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel will also attend the commemoration ceremony for Gezmiş at the Karşıyaka Cemetery in Ankara.
Mustafa Yalçıner, a friend of Deniz Gezmiş from the 1968 era, also celebrated Deniz Gezmiş's 77th birthday in a post on his social media account.
Yalçıner included the following statements in his social media post:
"Our Deniz, together with his dear comrade Cihan Alptekin. Happy birthday, my dear brother. As you said in your final moment: 'Long live the glorious ideology of Marxism-Leninism'"
