As debates continue following MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call for terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan to come to the TBMM and deliver a speech, remarks by AKP Bingöl Deputy Feyzi Berdibek have drawn attention. During a visit to a coffeehouse following an iftar program organized by his party's Bingöl Provincial Presidency, Berdibek emphasized 'Türkiyelilik' (being of Turkey), stating, "The Grand National Assembly of Turkey is not a Turkish Parliament, but an assembly composed of nations."

STATEMENT ON 'TÜRKIYELILIK'

During his conversation with citizens, Berdibek touched upon the talks held with terrorist leader Öcalan and recalled MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's call regarding Öcalan. The AKP deputy, who stated that he was giving a message of unity and solidarity in his speech, used the following expressions:

"Devlet Bahçeli's words regarding Abdullah Öcalan are important. He said, 'Öcalan's words are invalid, oppose them.' The state saw this and said, 'If that is the case, let Abdullah Öcalan come to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and speak at the DEM Party group meeting.' There is a very subtle detail that needs to be paid attention to here. The Grand National Assembly of Turkey is not a Turkish Parliament. It is an assembly composed of nations. Come to this assembly, make your speech, and let us ensure unity, solidarity, and brotherhood in this process. Whoever contributes, whoever supports, and whoever takes responsibility for the future of this country, every idea is valuable."
