Battal İlgezdi's past statement resurfaces following his resignation
Following Battal İlgezdi's resignation after not being nominated by the CHP for the local elections, his past remarks made at the municipal council have resurfaced on social media.
The CHP held the meeting to determine its candidates for the March 31 local elections. Ataşehir Mayor Battal İlgezdi, a CHP member who did not find a place for himself on the candidate lists—which also included names from the AKP and MHP—and was not selected for candidacy, announced his resignation, claiming that a purge process was taking place within his party and that figures close to Kılıçdaroğlu were being removed.
PAST STATEMENT RESURFACES
Following this resignation, in which İlgezdi accused the party leadership, his past speeches at the municipal council were brought to the agenda.
In the video in question, Battal İlgezdi is seen saying that even if he were not nominated in the local elections, he would do everything in his power for his party to win.
In his speech, İlgezdi uses the expression, "Whether I am nominated or not, I will work like a donkey for my party to win."
