CHP mayor visited Menzil sheikh and kissed his hand! Footage emerges

CHP's Fikret Albayrak, who was elected Mayor of Düzce Akçakoca in the 2009 local elections, has been re-nominated for the local elections on March 31.

It has emerged that in 2013, while Albayrak was serving as mayor, he visited Fevzeddin Erol, one of the 'sheikhs' of the Menzil sect. 

In the video shared on social media, Albayrak is seen kissing the hand of the Menzil sheikh.

Furthermore, in the video, the person introducing Albayrak to Erol can be heard saying, "Sir, welcome to our Akçakoca. Our mayor has been waiting for you for 1.5-2 hours. To meet with you..."

"WE USED TO BE CURIOUS ABOUT ADIYAMAN"

In the footage, while Albayrak says to Erol, "How wonderful to see you here. Honestly, how wonderful to see you in our district, we are very happy. It was a very big surprise for us. All our friends used to go to Adıyaman from here, we were always curious. We liked it very much, thank God," a person in the room is heard calling Albayrak "Our mayor is a true mujahid."

In the video, when a person asks the Menzil sheikh, "Our mayor is from the CHP, but he has great affection for you. How do you evaluate this?" Erol is heard saying, "It doesn't matter if he is CHP or whoever he is. He is a human being, as long as he believes in God. As long as he believes in the Messenger of Allah, whoever he is, he is welcome. What matters is that his faith is complete. That is the means; the goal must be divine, it must be God. The rest is not important to us. For us, the goal is our faith, our religion. It is Islam."
