Speaking at the 38th CHP Ordinary Congress, CHP member Abdullah Şahin made remarks about sports that were outside the main agenda. As Şahin was saying, "Today, when you talk about sports, 8 ministries work in coordination in developed countries. Sports at the top, health underneath. Do you know why health? Our children are obese! There are 33 million obese people in this country!" his 5-minute time limit expired.
As his time ran out, Şahin began jumping on the podium. He then displayed aggressive behavior while walking toward the Council. Afterward, he threw his notes on the floor. Those moments became a trending topic on social media.
