Erdoğan lands in Athens, Mitsotakis does not come to greet him: 'The eye-catching tie detail'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has arrived in Athens, the capital of Greece, on his private plane.

President Erdoğan was welcomed at Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos by Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis, Turkey's Ambassador to Athens Çağatay Erciyes, and other officials.

Accompanying Erdoğan on his visit to Athens are Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, and Chief Advisor to the President, Ambassador Akif Çağatay Kılıç.

MITSOTAKIS DID NOT COME

While President Erdoğan was welcomed by Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis, the fact that Kyriakos Mitsotakis did not come to greet him drew attention.

Additionally, it was noted that Erdoğan wore a red tie symbolizing the Turkish flag, while Gerapetritis wore a blue tie symbolizing the Greek flag.
