Erkan Baş shouted from the podium: Down with NATO, down with imperialism

The bill regarding the approval of the protocol for Sweden's accession to NATO was accepted in the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

In the vote, in which 346 deputies participated, 287 votes were cast in favor and 55 against. While the AK Party, CHP, and MHP voted in favor of the proposal, deputies from the İYİ Party, Felicity Party, New Welfare Party, HÜDA PAR, TİP, Democrat Party, and DSP voted against it.

TİP Chairman Erkan Baş spoke at the Turkish Grand National Assembly session where the vote on Sweden's NATO membership was held.

"DOWN WITH NATO! DOWN WITH IMPERIALISM"

Stating, "We will end the era of your children going to the palace and our children going to the grave," Erkan Baş continued his speech as follows:

I also want to put on the record a slogan that is a gift to us from the Denizes and Mahirs, whom we lost while they were leading the struggle against NATO.

Down with NATO! Down with imperialism! Long live a fully independent Turkey!"
