Hakkı Süha Okay evaluates Kılıçdaroğlu's speech targeting 'change advocates'

The 38th Ordinary Congress of the Republican People's Party (CHP) began this morning at 10:00 AM.

At the congress, where Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu serves as the Chair of the Council, the race for the chairmanship will be between the candidate of the change advocates, Özgür Özel, and the candidate of the party headquarters, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, following the withdrawal of İlhan Cihaner and Örsan Öymen from the race.

In his speech at the congress, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that he entered the presidential elections with daggers in his back. On the other hand, Kılıçdaroğlu also reacted to the change advocates within the party with the words, “Those who voice the rhetoric of change are those who have not changed for a long time. But my first job after the election was to change them.”

Stating that Kılıçdaroğlu delivered a good speech, Okay said, “The chairman stated that he would not be a candidate in the next congress. I suppose Özgür Özel, who is a candidate in the name of change, will provide the answer. In the process ahead, we will emerge from the congress in unity and solidarity under any circumstances, and we will leave hand in hand.”
