AKP deputy Hulki Cevizoğlu had previously made absurd statements regarding the crisis that occurred during the Super Cup Final in Riyadh.
HE HAD DEFENDED THE SUPER CUP DISGRACE
Cevizoğlu had whitewashed the events in Riyadh by using the expressions, "Why don't you wear an Atatürk t-shirt in Turkey, my friend? Is there any need to stir up the nation just to wear an Atatürk t-shirt?"
In a broadcast he attended on Haber Global, Cevizoğlu made further unfortunate remarks, portraying the AKP and Erdoğan as 'Atatürkists in action'.
"WHY DON'T YOU APPLAUD THIS"
Cevizoğlu's statements are as follows:
"We have an AK Party and a President who practice Atatürkism in action. He is the one standing up to America, he is the one standing up to Norway and Sweden. Look, there is a giant Atatürk poster with a Kuvâ-yi Milliye cap at the Presidential Complex. Look, this is how the picture is hung. Why don't you applaud this?"
