Özgür Özel visits Saadet Party's Hasan Bitmez

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel visited the family of Saadet Party Kocaeli MP Hasan Bitmez, who suffered a heart attack at the podium while speaking at the Turkish Grand National Assembly General Assembly yesterday and was subsequently hospitalized and placed in intensive care.

Making a brief statement after the visit, Özel said:

"Hasan Bitmez has been a bridge between our two parties since day one; he is a very hardworking politician who visited us constantly. That something like this should happen at the podium should be a lesson for all of us. Every kind of risk must be evaluated, and it is clear that nothing is more important than health."

"CRITICAL CONDITION PERSISTS"

Following Özel's remarks, the hospital's chief physician provided an update on Bitmez's health, stating that his life remains in danger and that he is being supported by an artificial lung and heart machine.
