Remarkable move from Battal İlgezdi, who resigned from CHP! As the billboard controversy continues...
Ataşehir Mayor Battal İlgezdi, who was not nominated in the March 31, 2024 local elections and subsequently resigned from the CHP, has displayed İYİ Party billboards in his district that make references to the CHP.
As the local elections approach, polemics in the political arena continue.
İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener, who decided to enter the elections "free and independent" by rejecting the CHP's cooperation offer, reacted to the fact that her party's election posters were not being hung on billboards during her speech at her party's group meeting, saying: "Those who want to censor us are not the palace, but the municipality! Those trying to block us are not Beştepe, but Saraçhane! Well, isn't that interesting?"
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu responded to Akşener's outburst with the words: "They know best that we would not engage in such blocking or such attempts or actions. I don't know why she made this statement."
While the billboard tension between the CHP and the İYİ Party continues, a remarkable move came from Ataşehir Mayor Battal İlgezdi, who was not nominated in the March 31 elections and resigned from the CHP.
İlgezdi displayed the İYİ Party's poster, which reads "You are not forced to choose between one-man oppression or co-chair fighting," on billboards in the district.
