Volkswagen responds to CHP's boycott call
Following the boycott of Volkswagen initiated by the CHP, a statement has come from the German automotive giant. The Volkswagen Group headquarters in Germany stated that they are closely monitoring political developments in Turkey, delivering the message that "judicial independence is one of the fundamental elements of economic security for us." The group also emphasized that they continue their cooperation with their Turkish distributor, Doğuş Otomotiv.
The Volkswagen Group headquarters in Germany, whose Turkish distributorship is managed by Ferit Şahenk's Doğuş Group, has issued a statement regarding the boycott initiated by the CHP. The German automotive giant stated that they are carefully following recent developments in Turkey, saying, "In the current tense political environment, we hope that the legitimate interests of all the people will be taken into account. At the same time, judicial independence is a fundamental element for us in terms of economic planning security and entrepreneurial success."
Responding to a letter written by Ahmet Güler, who has served as the President of the German-Turkish Friendship Federation for many years, regarding the boycott, the Volkswagen Group stated, "We have a long-standing business relationship with Doğuş Otomotiv, which is the national distribution partner for our products in the Turkish automotive sector. We believe that a great responsibility falls upon the Turkish rule of law, especially under the current circumstances."
