A conversation between CHP İzmir Provincial Chair Şenol Aslanoğlu and a citizen in front of his vehicle with flashing lights had become a trending topic on social media.

Following the footage, the CHP İzmir Provincial Presidency made statements to 12punto.

Sait Çelik, Press Consultant for the CHP İzmir Provincial Presidency, responded to the conversation Aslanoğlu had with the citizen in the footage, saying, "There were workers who had been laid off from the Metropolitan Municipality; the footage was about the conversation with them."

WORKERS RETURNED TO THEIR JOBS

Explaining the details of the meeting, Çelik said:

"The main agenda item for us there was the individuals who had been laid off and were meeting to return to their jobs. In fact, after that meeting, the metropolitan municipality invited them back, and an agreement was reached for them to return to their jobs."

THE CONTROVERSY OVER THE VEHICLE WITH FLASHING LIGHTS

Stating that the issue of the vehicle with flashing lights was brought up by 'AKP trolls', Çelik said, "The necessary responses have been given under their posts."

Regarding the controversy over the vehicle with flashing lights, Çelik stated, "It is a legal vehicle with flashing lights. It is a vehicle registered in traffic. Since the event was about the workers returning to their jobs, we never entered into that agenda. The agenda for us was the workers. We think, if only everyone who rides in a vehicle with flashing lights would do so, but also solve the public's poverty and hire the workers who have become unemployed."
