These are cheap games. They are trying to make our municipalities unable to function so that we do not come to power. In 2019, they carried out a 'judicial coup' against İmamoğlu via the YSK. Regarding the words of former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, "We will not shake the hands of those sitting in the palace, we will fight. Democracy is not given as a favor. Democracy comes with determined struggle," Özel said the following:

"I do not take Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's assessments personally. The first party is responsible for Turkey's polarization. I became the first party on March 31, and for this reason, I took a step. Mr. Kemal was never the leader of the first party; we worked very hard, but it did not happen. We have not become like Erdoğan, who is the first party and does not shake the hands of the second party."
