Wedding at Silivri Prison: Families granted permission

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality official IPA President Buğra Gökçe, who was arrested as part of operations targeting the municipality, has decided to get married in prison. Gökçe, who has been detained since April 23, will have his wedding ceremony held today at Silivri Prison.

PERMISSION GRANTED FOR FAMILIES TO ATTEND THE WEDDING

Gökçe's family had applied multiple times to attend the wedding but had not received a positive response. This situation was met with backlash from the family, who had announced they would be in front of Marmara Prison at the time of the wedding. However, it was learned that a last-minute decision was made to allow the family to attend the ceremony.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel will serve as a witness for the couple at the wedding ceremony.
