What issues will be discussed in the Turkish Parliament this week?
The agenda items to be addressed by the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) General Assembly, which will begin its weekly work on April 30, have been determined. The General Assembly will discuss a legislative proposal containing regulations in the energy sector. Meanwhile, the TBMM Research Commission on the İliç Mining Accident will hear from officials from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, and the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
The Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) General Assembly will begin its weekly work on Tuesday, April 30.
Discussions on a legislative proposal containing regulations in the energy sector will continue in the General Assembly this week.
According to the proposal, natural gas produced domestically or imported from different sources will be able to be liquefied in Turkey and marketed to world markets as LNG.
Projects prepared to increase energy efficiency will be supported by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources at a rate of up to 30 percent of their costs, provided that they do not exceed 15 million liras.
Renewable energy production plants will be able to be established without the need for zoning plans in areas declared as renewable energy resource areas by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources in seas, dam lakes, artificial lakes, and natural lakes, excluding reservoirs and wetlands used for drinking and utility water, as well as coastal and shoreline strips covered by the Coastal Law.
In places where a state of emergency has been declared or which have been accepted as disaster areas affecting general life, temporary electrical energy demands will be met within the framework of determined procedures and principles to ensure that electricity services are provided without interruption.
COMMISSION AGENDAS
The Joint Commission composed of members of the Petition Commission and the Human Rights Inquiry Commission will hear from officials from the Turkish Wrestling Federation, the Afşin Municipality, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the General Directorate of Personnel of the Ministry of National Education, the Mardin Governorship, the Social Security Institution, and the General Directorate of Management Services of the Ministry of Health.
MINISTRY OFFICIALS TO PROVIDE INFORMATION TO THE COMMISSION ON THE İLİÇ DISASTER
The TBMM Research Commission on the İliç Mining Accident will also convene under the chairmanship of AKP Antalya Deputy Atay Uslu. Officials from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, and the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change will provide information to the commission.
Group meetings of the political parties with groups in Parliament will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
