Will Israel attack Turkey? What was discussed in the closed session? Özel revealed it by saying, 'I am disclosing it now'

While Israel's attacks on Gaza have not received a sufficient response from the world, its new target has become Lebanon. Israel killed Hezbollah leader Nasrallah and subsequently began bombing Beirut. As the threats in the region encompass many parts of the Middle East, this situation has also become a significant political agenda item for Turkey.

AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statements that "Israel's next target will be Turkey" led to the initiation of a closed session in the TBMM General Assembly. In his speech at the parliamentary podium, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated, "If the country's President comes out and says at the Parliament's podium that 'Israel will attack Turkey,' there is an urgent need for a closed session. They will come and inform this Parliament." Özel's call for a closed session was met, and a closed session was held regarding what was discussed inside, for which information cannot be disclosed for 10 years. The possibility of Israel attacking Turkey and what Turkey would do in the face of this possibility were discussed there.

Appearing as a guest on Fatih Altaylı's YouTube channel, CHP leader Özgür Özel made statements regarding the closed session held in the TBMM. Speaking about whether Israel would attack Turkey or not, Özel made statements about the Turkey-Israel closed session by saying, "I am disclosing it now."

Özel said the following:

"The parliamentary session was a very correct decision. They were saying Erdoğan knows something. When Erdoğan said Israel would attack, I said come and explain. The minutes of a secret session cannot be disclosed for 10 years, and information about what was discussed cannot be given. I said, give the information and I will do whatever is required of me. But I said I would disclose what you did not talk about. And I am disclosing now that nothing you do not already know was discussed inside. I am not saying what was discussed. So, it turns out there was nothing they could tell the nation's representatives regarding Israel attacking Turkey. I did not learn anything new in Parliament. There is no data regarding an approaching Israel-Turkey conflict. Occupation, direct attack, firing missiles at Turkey... There is no such thing. It won't happen. They cannot do it."
