Will Kılıçdaroğlu run for office again? CHP's Kuşoğlu responds
CHP Deputy Chairman Bülent Kuşoğlu has made assessments regarding the potential presidential candidacy of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
CHP Deputy Chairman Bülent Kuşoğlu responded to a question regarding whether Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will be a presidential candidate again in the next election.
Making assessments on the agenda during a broadcast on TİVİ6, Kuşoğlu stated that for a party leader to say "I am stepping down" in politics would make party management difficult. Kuşoğlu noted that such a statement could trigger factionalism within the party, and therefore, he does not expect such a statement from Kılıçdaroğlu at this stage.
Kuşoğlu recalled Kılıçdaroğlu's words while heading to the party congress after the 2023 elections, where he said he would "take the party to a safe harbor" and then "leave it in safe hands." Kuşoğlu expressed his belief that Kılıçdaroğlu still stands by those words.
Regarding whether Kılıçdaroğlu will be a presidential candidate again, Kuşoğlu said, "Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu has been a candidate once, he would not want to be a candidate for the presidency again... Hopefully, there will not be conditions that require him to be a candidate again."
Arguing that the opposition should not have difficulty finding a new candidate, Kuşoğlu said that there are "very valuable people" in Turkey who are capable of serving as president and are well-versed in the problems of the country and the world.
