It is being discussed that Koray Aydın, who lost to Müsavat Dervişoğlu at the party convention, will resign from the IYI Party, whose number of seats in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) has fallen to 35.

Aydın and a large number of party members, including members of the General Administrative Board (GİK), are also expected to announce their resignations.

According to a report by Merve Kılıç from Cumhuriyet, it is stated that a decrease in the current number of deputies will occur with Aydın's resignation. In political circles, it is being discussed that the IYI Party will experience a major “split” with the departure of many party members along with Aydın. Party sources note that Aydın and his team will remain independent for a while but will draw up a roadmap for the 2028 general elections. Some party members also state that the possibility of “joining the Democrat Party” is still on the agenda. However, it is claimed that the obstacle to joining the Democrat Party is that Gültekin Uysal does not want to vacate the chairmanship seat.
