YENİ Party calls for August 1st march for imprisoned mayors
Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik has called for participation in a march to be held for Ekrem İmamoğlu, Mehmet Murat Çalık, and Resul Emrah Şahan.
The YENİ Party will organize a march for the imprisoned Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, and party officials.
YENİ Party Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik announced the details of the gathering to be held on August 1st in a post on his social media account. The post stated that the march would be led by Chairman Özgür Özel.
In his call, Çelik “We are gathering under the leadership of our Chairman Özgür Özel to defend the will of the people” he stated.
The post added, “We are marching for our presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been held captive for 500 days, Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, and all our fellow travelers” it was said.
The announcement poster stated that the march will begin on Saturday, August 1st, at 20:00. According to the program, the starting point of the march will be in front of the Beylikdüzü Municipality, and the destination will be the Beylikdüzü Valley of Life May 6th Stage.
