YENİ Party hits the field in September: Two MPs to be assigned to every province

The YENİ Party has announced its field work program to be implemented in September. Party Spokesperson Zeynel Emre stated that MPs will be assigned to the field during the period when Parliament is closed, noting that work will be carried out across Turkey with two MPs assigned to each province.

Emre stated that the assignments will be finalized within this week, adding, "We will not remain idle as MPs while Parliament is closed during the month of September." As part of the program, it is planned for MPs to explain the party's policies and organizational goals to citizens through provincial visits.

Providing information on the party's membership numbers, Emre announced that the YENİ Party has exceeded 400 thousand members. Emre stated that citizens who become members by the 26th will be able to vote in the upcoming district congresses, while those who become members after this date will be able to vote in subsequent processes.

MEMBER AND MUNICIPALITY NUMBERS ANNOUNCED

Emre said that the number of the party's municipalities has risen to 244, and they expect this number to increase further over time. It was also conveyed that Deputy Chairman in Charge of Financial Affairs Özgür Ceylan will announce the amount of donations collected and the number of donors as of 20:00 on the 25th day.

Criticisms regarding judicial processes were also brought up at the press conference. Emre argued that Turkey is "being sought to be governed by the judiciary," criticizing the government over operations, injustices, and irregularities. Criticizing the way individuals being tried without arrest are summoned for testimony, Emre claimed this is an attempt to cripple political will.

Stating that there is no condition for arrest based on testimony in the Criminal Procedure Code, Emre noted that despite the government's talk of internal peace and universal law, it has not taken concrete steps, describing this situation as "a very great hypocrisy."

Emre also announced that Chairman Özgür Özel will go to Kocaeli and Kayseri; visits and meetings with the public will be held throughout the day in these provinces. He expressed that they expect high interest in these visits due to membership applications and requests.

Touching upon the party's establishment process, Emre said that the YENİ Party emerged as a "strong and organized objection" against the narrowing of the democratic political space. Emre also stated that the support of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer continues.

At the end of the meeting, information was also shared regarding the health status of Gaziantep MP Melih Meriç. Emre reported that Meriç was most recently intubated and transferred to Koç University Hospital.
