YENİ Party Group Deputy Chairman and Ankara MP Murat Emir made sharp criticisms of the government during the first meeting of the new legislative year at the TBMM General Assembly.
Targeting the TMSF (Savings Deposit Insurance Fund) account, which he stated was opened within the scope of fund fraud allegations, Emir argued that this is a practice that "circumvents the law."
In his speech, Murat Emir also brought up the operations targeting municipalities.
Criticizing the arrests in Mersin and Ataşehir, Emir claimed that municipalities that could not be won through elections are being targeted by "the judiciary and law enforcement." Emir alleged that pressure is being exerted on municipal council members and argued that this process is part of a plan targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
'REPENTANCE ACCOUNT' CRITICISM
Evaluating the fund fraud allegations, Emir stated that the names of former minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya and her husband İlyas Kaya were not included in the criminal complaint filed by the Capital Markets Board (SPK) regarding Özata Denizcilik. Questioning why these individuals were not investigated, Emir stated that the legal process must be carried out regarding the allegations of illicit gain.
They have opened an account, it is practically a repentance account; they say: 'You bring it, if you have earned exorbitant money, bring this exorbitant money and deposit it into this account.' And this is an account of the TMSF, it is a repentance account. This is an account created for Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya and similar children in the palace, which circumvents the law.
Emir stated that such allegations must be investigated in a state of law. Referring to the Capital Markets Law, Emir said that in cases of illicit gain, in addition to criminal liability, the gains obtained must be transferred to the public with interest.
Touching upon school safety in his speech, Emir criticized the Ministry of National Education by recalling the attacks that have occurred in various provinces recently. Arguing that there were instances of negligence regarding the incident in Istanbul where a student lost his life, Emir said, "We do not want to lose any more of our children."
Emir also stated that the details of some incidents were not shared in governorship statements, claiming that this was linked to an ideological approach. Stating that the Parliament should take responsibility regarding the fund fraud allegations and school safety, Emir requested that the relevant ministries and institutions make public statements.
