YRP's Düzce candidate, singer Davut Güloğlu, throws microphone at citizen: 'Did they hire you to send you here?'
Yeniden Refah Party's Düzce mayoral candidate, singer Davut Güloğlu, argued with a citizen during a campaign event at a coffeehouse, threw his microphone, and walked toward the individual.
Yeniden Refah Party Düzce mayoral candidate Davut Güloğlu visited a coffeehouse in the Çay neighborhood as part of his election campaign to meet with citizens.
"THEY ARE ALL THREATENING ME"
Claiming that he was being threatened by local journalists in Düzce, Güloğlu said, "You are not aware of it. There is great pressure in Düzce. You are not experiencing this. 20 police officers came to my house. They said it was a mistake and left. We spoke with our Chief of Police. They apologized. We hang up posters, they tear them down. Journalists are threatening us. They say, 'If you don't pay, you'll see what happens when we take you down.' I say this everywhere I go. They are all threatening me," he said.
Upon this, one of the neighborhood residents present at the coffeehouse said to Davut Güloğlu, "Who are those journalists? Name them so we know." Angered by these words, Güloğlu replied, "Did they hire you to send you here?" The citizen responded, "There is no money that can buy me."
When Güloğlu threw the microphone in his hand and walked toward the citizen, others present at the coffeehouse intervened to calm the parties down.
