YRP's Istanbul candidate responds to 'withdrawal from election' claims!

Resul Tosun, known for his proximity to the AKP, had claimed that New Welfare Party (YRP) candidates would withdraw in favor of the AKP shortly before the election, stating, "I am saying this based on information, and I even know the names."

Making a statement during a shopkeeper visit in Beyoğlu, New Welfare Party Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral Candidate Mehmet Altınöz responded to the claims that he would withdraw from his candidacy.

"WE INVITE THOSE MAKING THE CLAIMS TO PROVIDE PROOF"

Altınöz said, "We are making this statement today during our shopkeeper visit in our Beyoğlu district. This statement is a necessary one. We have seen and watched various claims on the public agenda regarding the withdrawal of the New Welfare Party's Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidates from the race. As the New Welfare Party Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral Candidate Mehmet Altınöz, I state clearly and unequivocally that there is no question of us withdrawing from the candidacy. We both strongly condemn such claims and invite those who make them to provide proof."

"NO POWER CAN STAND IN OUR WAY"

Reacting to the AKP-affiliated writer Tosun, who put forward the claim in question, Altınöz noted the following:

"They say they are stating this based on information. We are here. I am here. Our Istanbul Provincial Chairman Mustafa Doğan is here, and Istanbul Deputy Doğan Bekin is here. Today, we carried out our shopkeeper visit in Beyoğlu with our entire organization and a delegation of approximately 150 people from our main staff. We are sending a clear message to those who want to dampen the excitement of our organization in the field. No power can stand in our way. We are working in a very lively and enthusiastic manner. Our women's branches and youth branches are in the field with great fervor. We are continuing our field work in Istanbul with approximately 15 thousand people from our main staff and, together with our auxiliary branches, approximately 100 thousand people. You will see us more in the field as we increase these efforts even further in the last 27 days. Hopefully, on the evening of March 31, we as the New Welfare Party will win Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir. And on April 1, we will hold the handover ceremonies in these metropolitan cities. We have made this necessary statement to the public here. We offer our love and respect to you all," he said.
