YRP's Mehmet Altınöz responds to Ekrem İmamoğlu allegations! Did a meeting take place?
Yeniden Refah Party Deputy Chairman Mehmet Altınöz responded to the allegation that "Ekrem İmamoğlu paid the Yeniden Refah Party to field candidates from behind the scenes, funding them in some way" during a live broadcast.
As the local elections approached, the Yeniden Refah Party (YRP) closed its doors to an alliance with the AKP and decided to field candidates in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.
YRP Deputy Chairman Mehmet Altınöz responded to allegations regarding Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
During a program on tv100 yesterday, Mehmet Altınöz was asked, "Would you like to respond to the allegations that you received 25 or 30 million dollars in advertising or sponsorship from İmamoğlu, specifically regarding your 'No' answer?"
Altınöz said, "Of course we will respond, let them come forward. We are on a live broadcast, whoever is saying anything, let them come and say it."
When asked, "So, what is your response to the allegation that Ekrem İmamoğlu paid the Yeniden Refah Party to field candidates from behind the scenes, and 'funded' them in some way?", Mehmet Altınöz replied:
"It requires proof, of course. There is a lot of gossip in domestic politics, but it needs to be proven. Whoever is saying this, let them come forward, I am on a live broadcast. Who made this conversation? Who received this money?"
"THERE WAS NO MEETING WITH İMAMOĞLU"
Stating that he had not met with Ekrem İmamoğlu at all during this process, Altınöz noted that there had been no meetings with the CHP and that no request for a meeting had been received either.
