Turkey went to the polls today to elect its local administrators.
As of 17:00, polls closed across the country and the vote-counting process began.
In Şanlıurfa, one of the cities where the outcome of the local elections is most anticipated, Yeniden Refah Party (YRP) mayoral candidate Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar made a call to ballot box officials while the vote-counting process was underway.
Stating "We are leading by a wide margin" in a post on his X (Twitter) account, Gülpınar said, "My call to all our ballot box officials is, let us not abandon the ballot boxes."
