YSK Chair Ahmet Yener made statements regarding the local elections.
Yener stated the following:
"Both the earthquake zone and all of Turkey are ready for the March 31, 2024 elections. In March, we will go to the earthquake zone to determine the final status of our preparations.
Perceptions such as excess voter registration, duplication, 'deceased voters,' or 'non-citizens voting' do not reflect the truth. An individual's records are checked using 9 pieces of information.
SEÇSİS, which operates on a secure network where data is entered on election day and is equipped with domestic and national hardware, is being subjected to cybersecurity tests by independent institutions."
