Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ issued a call for cooperation to nationalist voters and political actors in a statement on his social media account.
In his post, Özdağ argued that Turkish nationalists should not act based on individual or partisan calculations, stating, "While Bahçeli and Öcalan are arm in arm, and Erdoğan, the AK Party, the MHP, and the DEM are saying they will walk the path together."
Stating that "today is not a day for petty calculations," Özdağ called for cooperation for the republic and solidarity to keep the values of the War of Independence alive. Özdağ noted that a "force to rebuild the republic that is being attempted to be destroyed" must be created through common sense.
"WE WILL NOT LOOK DOWN ON OTHERS, WE WILL NOT BELITTLE OUR COUNTERPARTS"
Emphasizing that the Zafer Party does not seek this cooperation solely for the purpose of being represented in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), Özdağ stated that their goal is to "form the governing cadre that will lead Turkey."
In his statement, Özdağ also addressed voters concerned about Turkey's future, saying, "We will not look down on others, we will not belittle our counterparts, and we will not offend them. We will not open old books."
Stating that the Zafer Party will fulfill its responsibility to form an election alliance that will ensure the defense and reconstruction of Atatürk's Turkey, Özdağ concluded his call with an emphasis on "national responsibility."
