Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ criticizes public austerity measures: 'Do one thing right'

Austerity measures were announced on many issues, from the number of public vehicles to public employment.

One of those criticizing the austerity decision, which has been criticized by many politicians and famous figures, was Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ.

Özdağ made the following post regarding the austerity decisions:

 "SAVE ON PRESTIGE"

“Do one thing right. Save on prestige. Fly on scheduled flights. Reduce the number of protection police. Reduce the salaries of those receiving 3-4 salaries to a single salary.

Abolish attendance fees. Abolish tax amnesties. You cannot save money by removing shuttle buses. If you are going to implement austerity measures, do not do it from the employee's pocket; Mr. Mehmet Şimşek, do it from the vehicles in the public sector, the official cars, which you call peanuts and pocket change.

You are making savings from the pockets of civil servants and workers. In these days when purchasing power has already fallen, salaries are insufficient, and it is difficult to make it to the end of the month, you will deal another blow to their pockets by removing the employees' shuttle services.”

"IS THIS ANOTHER 'I DID IT, SO IT IS' CLASSIC?"

“The removal of shuttle services also places an additional burden on public transportation. Were these calculated when this decision was made? Or is it another 'I did it, so it is' classic?

Transportation, especially in metropolises, and the already insufficient public transport vehicles will become an even bigger problem with this. It will make life even more difficult, and life will become unbearable.

Public transport vehicles, which are packed to the brim during work start and end hours, will be completely inadequate during these peak hours.

For employees who struggle to make it to the end of the month, transportation costs will also become an additional burden. By removing personnel shuttle services, savings will be made from the employee's pocket. There is a lot to say, but those living in the palace and those on the street live in very different worlds.”
